Statement of 6 October 2026
Chap Live should be a game anyone can play. This page says what we aim for on this website, what we can already do in the studio, what we are still putting in place, and how to tell us what you need.
This website
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Our pages are checked with an automated accessibility tester as part of every release, controls are large enough to tap, and a booking can be made from start to finish with a keyboard alone.
Automated checks do not catch everything. If something on this site is hard to use with your screen reader, magnifier, keyboard or other tools, tell us and we will fix it, and help you book in the meantime.
Telling us what you need
The Arena and Teams booking forms and the Teams enquiry each have an optional access needs box. Use it to tell us anything that would help you or someone in your group take part.
- It is optional. You can book without it, or email us instead.
- We use it only to arrange seats and ways to answer for your session, and only our operations team can read it.
- It is not included in our marketing lists, our exports or our emails.
- We delete it 30 days after your session (30 days after you send a Teams enquiry).
Ways to answer
Every round has a way to play that does not depend on speaking, hearing or pressing a buzzer:
- Lock-In answers are A, B, C or D. Point, hold up a card or sign the letter, and our crew enters it for you.
- To buzz in, any clear signal works: a raised hand, a card or a tap on the desk. A member of our crew presses the buzzer for your seat.
- If you cannot speak, or cannot speak clearly, you can write your answer on a small whiteboard or sign it. For signing in Nigerian Sign Language or BSL, tell us in advance and we will book an interpreter. The moderator gives extra time for writing, and an answer is never ruled wrong because of how it is written.
- If you cannot hear the cues, we seat you with a clear view of the studio screen, which shows the question, the timer and every result. Where a cue is only heard, the moderator agrees a hand signal with you before the game.
- If you are blind or have low vision, the host voice reads every question aloud, and the moderator tells you when the bomb reaches your seat.
In a team seat, these apply to the member who needs them; the rest of the team plays as usual.
Getting to and using the seats
We are still confirming, venue by venue, step-free access from the street to the set and to a toilet, a seat position a wheelchair fits under with the buzzer in easy reach, and camera framing and lighting for a seated player. Until a venue’s checks are done, please tell us what you need before you book and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it on the date you want.
If something does not work for you
Email us at the address below, or message the venue on WhatsApp. Tell us the page or the session, and what got in the way. We reply within one working day.
